Organic Strawberry Grapefruit Mimosa

Mimosa has become hugely popular.  You can make take mimosa to the next level using fresh juice, organic ingredients, and throw in some creativity.

Bottled orange juice is not good for our body. Why they market it to families as a  healthy drink choice  is beyond me.  I suggest you do a little research on the health risks of store bought orange juice.

The only way to make  a rocking mimosa is fresh juice, and organic produce if possible. I used a Vita-Mix, the most valuable tool in my kitchen to make the juice for this recipe.   If you don’t have a Vita-Mix, it is well worth the cost and investment  in the  machine. I use it at least once per day, if not more. I take it with me on vacations for goodness sakes.!

Organic Strawberry Grapefruit Mimosa

A sophisticated mimosa recipe, made with organic grapefruits and strawberries.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 6 servings

Ingredients

  • I juice with an inexpensive citrus fruit juicer 5 large organic grapefruits
  • take stems off and wash 10 large organic strawberries
  • 2 bottles of chilled Brut or Extra Dry Champagne

Instructions

  • With an inexpensive fruit juicer ( you can purchase at any Walmart), juice your grapefruits. Roll them around before you juice them to get them warmed up. Wash your strawberries and take off the green leafs. The green leaves have nutrition but turn the finished product a dull color, so take the greens off.
  • In your, Vita-Mix take your washed strawberries and a cup of your juice and pulse away until blended. Shut off and put the rest of your grapefruit juice in the pitcher. Slowly take to the highest speed. This will dissolve the seeds of the strawberries and the pulp of the grapefruit,  making your juice nice and clear.
  • In a large wine glass pour champaign until half full. Slowly add your fruit juice. Be slow and easy, because it will foam over very quickly. I like to freeze my champaign  and juice to cold, but not frozen.
  • Enjoy!
